The Ladies Auxiliary, founded in 2015, is an extension of the Knights of Columbus Council 15495 at St. Alphonsus Parish. The Ladies Auxiliary works alongside the council to serve the parish and the local community.
There are only two requirements to join. You must be at least 18 years of age and a practicing Catholic. You do not need to be a parishioner of St. Alphonsus nor do you need to have any association with the Knights of Columbus.
One of the primary Mission of Charity initiatives of the LA is the “Item of the Month” program. This supports the Parish Food and Clothing Center. The success of this program has resulted in a national “Food for Families“ award from the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus, for three years in a row! The Ladies Auxiliary supports Faith Foundation programs at St. Alphonsus. Refreshments for the Easter Vigil and lunch for the Habitat build day are hosted by the Auxiliary. Quarterly projects supporting Kids Food Basket is another activity of the LA.
The major fundraiser for the LA is a bake sale generally held in October.
The Ladies Auxiliary meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus room. Enter through the Lafayette St. entrance. During the winter months, parking and entrance is through the main parish center doors.
Annual dues are $20. A logo’d blue shirt can be ordered through Rod Cronin, PGK PFN. The fraternal year runs from July 1 – June 30. Nominations of officers occurs in May with the election in June.
